Chris Whitson

Marion Christopher Whitson, 58, passed away from a lengthy illness on April 6, 2011. He was born in Galveston, TX on May 28, 1952. He was raised in Houston and presently resided in Leander, TX. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kimberly Dawn and her fiancé, Scott Johnson; his son and best friend Robert Christopher; his cherished grandson, Reece Johnson; sisters, Sharon Kologinczak and husband Steve, Donna Whitson and Shelley Southworth; along with numerous nieces and nephews who all love him dearly. Chris served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea and came home to marry his childhood sweetheart. He loved to debate on our nation’s history, loved his garden, playing a good game of Texas Hold ‘Em., baseball and Little League playoffs. Most of all he loved his family. He touched the lives of many and we will all miss him. His memory will forever remain in our heart. Special thanks to his caregiver, Hilda Dedmon and his sister Donna for taking care of him during his illness. A gathering will be held at 6pm with a memorial service starting at 7pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Heights Funeral Home. A graveside military funeral will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We never say goodbye, always see you later.
