It is with profound sadness that we announce that Cheryl Barnes Fritsche was called Home to our Lord on August 20, 2020. She was a faithful and active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, including the Bereavement Committee and the LWML Night Circle. Cheryl’s life was defined by her steadfast faith in Christ and love for her family. Cheryl cherished her roots in the Houston Heights community and was an active member and volunteer at the Houston Heritage Society. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alvin Fritsche. Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Edna Mae Kaiser Barnes.

Survivors include her children: Michael and Sue Fritsche, Kenneth and Lee Fritsche, Rev. Joel and Clarion Fritsche, Erin and Mark Whitfield.
Grand children: Joshua Hines, Zachary Fritsche, Jacob Fritsche (Kayla Hold), Michelle Fritsche, Alexandra Whitfield, Ian Whitfield, Viktor Fritsche, Sergei Fritsche, Andrei Fritsche; Sister and brother-in-law: Jan and Ed Nimtz
Visitation with the family will be held at Pat H. Foley on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 5:00-8:00pm.
The Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5000 W. Tidwell on Wednesday, August 26 at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon at the church. A private committal service will take place after the luncheon.
COVID protocols (masks, social distancing, etc.) will be observed at the visitation and the service.
