Mr.Mao and I worked together in Aldine. He was very intelligent, well informed, world travelled and really connected and cared deeply about his students. I remember him teaching the dragon dance for New Year, the kids painted and transformed bags and boxed into costumes. If you knew him at all, you knew his family was his greatest concern. Be at peace, friend. 

I have fond memories of the kind and generous man that Charles Mao was. My kids went to elementary school with his granddaughters  Samantha and Morgan.  I will be there for his service as long as the rain does not hold me back❤️

Charlie made me smile in high school in Sao Paulo, and countless times over the years as friends on Facebook.  It was a jolt to go online to wish him a happy 75th birthday and to learn that he is no longer with us.  He will be missed by many around the world.  Wishing his entire family peace and comfort.  

I came to know Charles through dance. He showed up at our studio one day hoping to dance. The only problem was that at the time he could barely walk. He struggled with strength, balance, and stamina. But what he didn’t lack was stubbornness! It was hard and we were often both frustrated. But he didn’t give up. Never! And by the time I moved away he was competing and WINNING! I feel such pride to have know him and to have danced along side him for many years. My next dance will be in his honor.
