Cecil Robert Johnston, Jr., known to family and friends as Bob, passed away on January 17 in Cypress, Tx at the age of 75. Visitation, Monday, January 21, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek and service on Tuesday, January 22 at 10:45 a.m. at Houston National Cemetery.
Bob was born on December 2, 1943 in Houston to Mary and Cecil Johnston, Sr. He graduated from St. Pius High School before enlisting in the Air Force. He is a Vietnam veteran. He retired from AT&T after 33 years of service and from Kaufman County after 12 years of service.
A quiet man by nature, Bob’s love for his family and his love of his Lord spoke clearly. His greatest accomplishment was his family, whom he loved and respected with all his heart. Everyone who knew him paid him the honor of saying he was a good man. He enjoyed hunting and outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife Glenna Brown and his four children Susan Saint of Kileen, Tx, Lori Fussell of Cypress, Tx. Karen Hartt and husband Michael of Pflugerville, Tx and son Robert Johnston and wife Kelly of Houston, Tx and their mother Judith Johnston, as well as 3 sisters, Mary Etta Nowak and husband Alvin, Spring, Tx, Peggy Domangue, Haslet, Tx., Janis Hatsfeldt and husband Brian, Sulphur, La. and 1 brother, Eddie Johnston and wife Rose, Hunstville, Tx, and 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mary Johnston and his parents-in-law, Leon and Augusta Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to your church or favorite charity in Bob’s honor.
