Cassie Myrna Kirkland Ludtke

Cassie Kirkland Ludtke, age 93, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, September 15, 2011. She was born along with her twin brother, Woodrow Kirkland, April 27, 1918 in Hubbard, Texas. Her family moved to Houston, Texas when she was six months old. She graduated from Reagan High School and later married Sam A. Ludtke in 1940. She had been a member of Baptist Temple Church for over 70 years and served as a secretary at the church for 25 years. Cassie will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Sam Ludtke, and her brother, Woody.

Cassie Ludtke is survived by her sister, Marian Kirkland Schneider; her two daughters: Helen Anderson and husband Don, and Nancy Williams and husband Kenneth; five grandchildren: Shelly Williams Lackey and husband Mark, Greg Anderson and wife Erin, Brett Williams and wife Kim, Tamara Anderson Chabera and husband Eusebio, and Julie Anderson and fiancé Justin Busby; and 10 great-grandsons: Marshall, Logan, and Graham Williams; Matthew and Jonathan Lackey; Derek, Dylan, and Samuel Chabera; and Finneas and Deacon Anderson and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and caregivers, Cindy Kleinworth and Donna Aquino.

The Memorial Service will be held at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, at 2:00PM with visitation immediately following with the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Baptist Temple Church or Houston Baptist University.
