Carolyn Ratliff, 84, of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 6, 2022. She was the youngest of 9 children, born to Benjamin and Lavicie Huntley on November 28, 1937 in Rison, Arkansas. She attended school in Rison, where she met the love of her life.
She spent her younger years as a housewife and stay at home mom. After her children were grown, she started working for Beal Bank, later moving to Bank of America, where she retired in 1999. She also kept the accounting records for her husband, Buddy’s business, Big 10 Tire.
Carolyn enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, coaching softball, camping and riding dirt bikes with her family.
Survivors include 3 children, Cindy Sorum (spouse Skip), Mike Ratliff, and Chris Ratliff (spouse April), 9 loving grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. “She has one surviving sister, Juanita Mitchell of White Hall, Arkansas. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles “Buddy” Ratliff, Sr., her son, Charles “Pete” Ratliff, Jr., and her great-grandson, Andrew Young Ratliff.

A visitation for Carolyn will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055. A graveside service will occur Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055.
