Yvonne Pilkinton went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning on May 6. She was under the care of Virginia's hospice at Villa Toscana skilled nursing facility. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Yvonne was born July 19, 1936 to Edward and Marcille Bradford in Brownfield Texas. She has a younger sister, Eddie Joe Fueston of Puyallup Washington.
Yvonne's family later moved to Lubbock, Texas where she grew up and attended Lubbock High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart Donald E. Pilkinton on December 19,1953. They moved to Oakland, California in 1954 after Donald entered the Navy until 1958.They moved to Houston in 1958 and later had two children Donna Carol Pilkinton Sessions and David Shawn Pilkinton. Yvonne and Don later owned their own vending company Hildon Vending together for 20 years. She was very detailed and kept excellent records and kept the business books all organized.
Yvonne will be remembered for her witty humor and how she always had something funny to say, and how she kept everyone laughing with the funny nick names she gave those that took care of her. She loved listening to gospel music and she would be seen clapping her hands to the old Church hymns and she enjoyed Country and Western Music and tapping her foot to Elvis Presley.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Pilkinton, they were married for 49 1/2 years when he passed away June 7, 2002; as well as her parents Edward and Marcille Bradford.
She is survived by her sister Eddie Joe Fueston and husband Jerry Fueston of Puyallup Washington; her daughter Donna and Ron Sessions of Spring Texas; her son David and Young Pilkinton of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren Stephen Pilkinton, Ryan Sessions and his wife Shelby Sessions, Danielle Sessions, Shane Pilkinton and Reid Sessions, all from Houston; several brother and sister in -laws; Gary and Nancy Pilkinton of Lubbock, Larry and Thelma Pilkinton of Austin, Texas, Dickie Pilkinton of Lubbock, Mac Pilkinton of Austin, Nita Bevers of Lubbock, and Betty Fulfer of Cypress Texas; as well as several Nephews and Nieces; Michael Pilkinton of Bastrop, Tiffany Herrera of Pflugerville, Candice Pilkinton of Austin, Jimmy Pilkinton, Eve Bargas, Monica and Mason Pilkinton, Nita Smith, Lori and Clayton Bevers.
