Born on January 24, 1938, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Rev. and Mrs. Hann Browne, Carolyn welcomed Jesus Christ into her heart at a young age and cherished her faith throughout her life.
As a teenager, Carolyn attended Toccoa Falls High School in Georgia, where she thrived in sports, music, and drama, leaving a lasting impression on her peers. After graduation, she continued her education at Toccoa Falls College, where she met her beloved husband, Paul Lee Copeland, from Portsmouth, Virginia. Their 32 years of marriage were filled with love and joy, bringing forth a devoted family of five sons and one daughter.
Carolyn’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her own children; she lovingly operated "NaNa's Day Care" in Katy, Texas, where she cared for hundreds of children. Her compassion and dedication forged deep, lasting bonds with many of those young ones, now grown adults. Known for her wit, strength, empathy, and moral integrity, Carolyn was a thoughtful and opinionated woman who loved deeply and was profoundly loved in return. Her undying devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the cornerstone of her life.
She is survived by three sisters and their families, along with numerous friends who cherished her and will miss her dearly. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and their son Jeff.
Her legacy continues through her children: Gregory (Gayle) Copeland of Stansbury Park, Utah; Stanley (Evete) Copeland of Bozeman, Montana; Stephen (Karen) Copeland of Cumming, Georgia; Melinda (Ken) Lambert of Katy, Texas; and Paul Jr. (Idalia) Copeland of Houston, Texas, as well as her daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Jeff, deceased) Copeland of Katy, Texas. She also leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
