Carol Ann Watkins

Carol was a homemaker and enjoyed reading romance/mystery novels, doing word search as well as jigsaw puzzles. She had a talent for crafts and was skilled at painting on clothing. Carol loved the great outdoors; gardening, camping and exploring caverns. She liked dining at Monterey House, Luby’s, Burger King and was a big fan of lemon meringue pie. She loved being around children and was blessed with many grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. She was known for her kind spirit and called everyone Sugar or Sweetie.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, George Watkins and son Larry Hickey. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Glenda Richey, Sherry Fussner, and Cynthia Harris; son: Ronnie Hickey, 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 with Wes Hinote, pastor of Old River Baptist Church officiating.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation/reception starting at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the memorial fund at Old River Baptist Church, 12948 FM1409, Old River-Winfree, TX 77535.
