Carlos or as some of us called him Calulo was a great man, someone who loved life, his family and had a love for music. He was employed by Faust Distributing Company for over 20 years. He was a man of hard work who enjoyed his job and was fully dedicated to the company. He loved to dance and was the life of the party. He would always extend his helping hand for anyone and never cast judgment. He would express his love in several different ways from giving the funniest nicknames such as Wee Wee, Cupcake, Pork chop, ding dong, butterbean and Pichon. He loved to grill and take his kids out crab fishing, camping, hunting, to the movies and many annual festivals. He would always quote, “I have eyes everywhere,” to make sure his kids, would stay out of trouble.
Carlos was the son of Julio and Rosa Mena. He leaves behind his beloved children and legacy, Danielle, Emily, and John Mena. Along with his siblings Julio, Nelson and Rosa. Carlos took on a fatherly figure role to his niece Rosa Corley and nephew’s Daniel and Joshua Mena, and Zachary Miranda. Carlos was a caring son who also took on the job to care for his loving father’s final years ailed with Prostate cancer, as well as watching over his mother Rosa in Carlos’s last years. To his family and friends Carlos was seen as a counselor, mentor, comedian, and most importantly a true friend. He lived life to the fullest and had a good time, as he would say, “It’s a great day to be alive.”
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you’re loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
