to Mae Jean Williams and the late Alfred David Williams. He
departed this life on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Carl gave his life
to Christ at an early age at the Church of God in Christ-Jefferson,
Texas where he played the guitar. He was the oldest of 6 children.
Carl graduated from Ross S. Sterling Sr High School in 1976, and
promptly enlisted in the United States Navy, he was stationed on
the USS Robert E. Peary-FF1073 in Hawaii. While in the Navy he
received the Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Education in
Basic Damage Control and Aviation Firefighting. He also traveled
throughout the world. Carl worked in Property Management for
over 30 years. Carl loved to be with his family, he loved old music,
old western movies, playing basketball and football.
Carl married Tammy Williams and to this union one child was
born Carl Alvin Williams Jr. (CJ).
He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred David Williams and
stepfather, Billy Joe Ballard, two grandparents Ophelia Guinn
and Foncy Phillips a loving Aunt Dottie B. Holland and one sister
Yolanda (Becky) Cannon.
Carl was a loving Companion, Father, Son, Brother and Uncle. He
leaves a lifetime of precious and loving memories to a very special
friend and companion, Betty Mayberry; his Son, Carl Williams Jr.
(CJ); Mother, Mae Jean Murray; Stepfather, Eddie B. Murray; one
Brother, Christopher Ballard (Akeema, Sister-In-Law); three Sisters,
Anita Williams-Dilliard, LaWanda Jean Barnett, Agnes Jean Fenn
and best friend and loving Brother-In-Law, Rodney Fenn; Aunts,
Joyce Brown, Annie Davis and Linda (Larry) Mitchell; Uncle, Glen
Morris; Nephews, Clayton Jarred Williams, and Leondras Barnett
Jr., both always stayed in touch; long time Navy Besties, Chester
Smith and Leroy Smith and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and
friends.
