He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; son, Carl Jr.; daughter, Rebecca; granddaughters, Riley and Elise; and many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Cushing, TX, he was the youngest son of Frank and Ruthie Mae Owens.
Carl lived a life of service beginning with four years in the Army. He then served 25 years in the Houston Police Department, and retired as Sergeant of the department’s highly esteemed Special Operations Unit. Even in retirement, Carl went on to serve 12 more years as an officer in the Klein ISD Police Department. He also served his family in many honorable ways, among them being a living example of kindness, patience, and perseverance.
Carl has been a member of Houston’s First Baptist Church since 1996, passing on the legacy of living a Christ-filled life.
