Bruce Maddox, 93, of Houston, Texas passed away Monday, April 18, 2011. Bruce was born on Monday, April 1, 1918 in Blue Ridge, Texas to Walter Benjamin and Delia Maddox. He was the youngest of eight children.
Bruce married the love of his life, Mary Frances Strong on July 21, 1939 and together they raised two sons, Gary and Tony. Bruce enjoyed a lifelong career with the Andrew Jergens Co. and was honored as their National Salesman of the Year. Bruce was active in his Oak Forest-Garden Oaks community serving on multiple boards and committees at St. Mathews United Methodist Church. He was a founding director of the Oaks Dads Club promoting youth baseball and football programs.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Maddox, son, Gary Maddox and wife Patricia, son, Tony Maddox and wife, Norma, grandchildren, Stephen Maddox and wife Amy, John Maddox and wife Janie, Nicole Stofer, John Stofer, Sara Maddox, great-grandchildren, Jackson Maddox, Mary Wesley Maddox, Bennett Maddox, Alex Maddox, Maddox Parker, Makenzye Parker, sister, Pauline Maddox Morgan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bruce “never met a stranger” and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bruce and Mary praised God every day for the comfort and blessings they received from the staff and residents at Clarewood House.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 21st, at 11:00AM in the Clarewood House Chapel, 7400 Clarewood Drive at Reims. (Reims Street entrance) Houston, Texas 77036.
