BRADLEY RAOUL PITNEY, 83, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2011. He was born on March 30, 1928 to Lucile Howett Pitney and Earl Hume Pitney in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised in Minnesota, where he met his wife, Carolyn Alice Paul. He is preceded in death by his brother Earl Pitney, and his wife, Carolyn. He is survived by his son, Scott Pitney, and his wife, Dana, their children: Tyler, Zachary and Gage, and his daughter Michelle McGinnis, and her husband, Joseph, and their children: Megan, Kelly, Kevin and David.
Brad attended The University of Minnesota from 1945-1950, and was married to Carolyn on May 25, 1950. He then entered the Army as a Sergeant in the Korean War until the cease fire in 1953. From there he headed to Boulder, Colorado to attend the Colorado School of Mines, where he played tennis on the school team, and received his BS in Geophysical Engineering, Class of 1957. He began work for Chevron, USA, and was transferred to Houston, Texas in 1959. Brad was an avid dove hunter, tennis player, golfer, and bridge player. He loved shooting pool, throwing horseshoes with friends, being with family , traveling and a good joke! He converted to Catholicism late in life, and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Parish in Houston, Texas. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood, on Tuesday, May 10th, at 10 am.
