Bo Franklyn Craddock, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away January 7, 2024. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 15, 1936. Bo graduated from the United States Military Academy and received a Masters Degree from the University of Illinois. He was married to Judith Marie Craddock for 65 years.
Bo served in the U.S. Army's Corps of Engineers in Korea and Vietnam. Later, his military career took him and his family to France and Belgium, where he worked with NATO and SHAPE Headquarters. When Bo retired from the army reserves in 1988, he had earned the rank of Colonel. As a civilian, Bo worked with insurance and securities and eventually started his own financial planning firm. He did not retire until he was in his 80s.
Most important to Bo was his faith in Jesus Christ, his family and his country. He taught adult Sunday school classes and Bible studies most of his adult life. Duty, honor, and country were his hallmarks throughout both his military and civilian careers.
He is survived by his wife Judy Craddock, his daughter Amy Hoak and her husband Gordon Hoak, his daughter Sally Craddock, and his granddaughters Alyssa Hoak, Elanor Hoak, and Lindey Hoak. He will also be greatly missed by sisters-in-law Nancy Harden and husband Jack, Janey Brennand, and Kathy Arrufat, and many adoring nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Bo will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
