Bill Wendt, beloved husband of Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Wendt and loving father passed away on October 24, 2016 with his family by his side. He was 68 years young and left a legacy of love with every member of his family and friends.
Bill was born on September 16, 1948, in Youngstown Ohio to Arthur Nicholas and Mary Margaret (Sovik) Wendt. After graduating from Cardinal Mooney High School, he enlisted at the age of 18 to join the United States Marine Corps where he served two tours in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1973. Bill eventually moved to Houston Texas and married Jackie (Schiller) Wendt on November 27, 1976.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Jackie; five children Lori, Tonya, Chris (Christal), Jennifer (Paul), and Mark (Jennifer); 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and dear brother Larry (Sue) and sister Marylou (Roger). Bill will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and the best of friends.
Bill was always a devoted husband, father and friend. He was a kind, gentle and humble man. He has left us all knowing what true love really means by his example of lifelong selfless giving to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his eternal optimism towards life. He loved with all his heart and devoted his entire life to making a difference for his wife, family and friends.
