Beverly Jo Page Evans made her debut into the world on April 23, 1934, in Petersburg, Texas. She joined her husband and soulmate, Nelson, and her heavenly father on June 28, 2022, while holding her son’s hand.
Nelson and Beverly Evans were blessed to have 62 years of marriage. They were high school sweethearts and were married in Lubbock on August 29, 1952.
Beverly graduated from Lubbock High School. She and Nelson married when she was 18 and they traveled far and wide while Nelson served as a fighter pilot in the Air Force, worked for the Federal Highway Administration and served as the director of the Texas Engineering Extension Service at Texas A&M.
Beverly’s faith in Jesus was the center of her life. Her and Nelson’s church homes included Park Row Church of Christ in Arlington and A&M Church of Christ in College Station, TX. They loved supporting the missionaries their churches sent around the world. They visited those missionaries in the Philippines and Thailand.
Beverly had a wonderful life. She was a strong matriarch of our family. She spoke from the heart and made us laugh with her observations on life. She treasured her friends and family. You always knew that she considered it a joy to be with you. She and Nelson loved dancing together and even took disco dancing lessons during the 1970’s. Playing bridge with friends was a true delight in her life.
During their years in college, the Air Force and the Federal Highway Department, Beverly and Nelson made lasting friendships. They never stopped traveling across the country to reconnect and catch up with those friends. In their middle years, while Beverly was working as a travel agent, they caught the traveling bug and traversed the globe. During their retirement years, they often traveled with their children and grandchildren. Their 50th anniversary was a trip to Disney World and a Disney cruise with the family. Their advice to all is to not wait until retirement to begin making memories.
Beverly is survived by her son Chris and daughter-in-love, Joleen, of Houston. Nelson and Beverly's grandchildren, Allie Evans, of Austin, TX and Ryan Evans and fiancé Kelly Williams, of Los Angeles, CA have been a tremendous joy in their lives. They were so proud of their A&M and UT grads.
Beverly thoroughly loved and enjoyed her extended family, including her nieces and nephews Dow B. Hickam, Neta Lee and Michael Ferguson, Sarah Kennedy, and Karen and Tom Snyder. Great nieces and nephews include Dow B. Hickam, III and Rhia Robinson, Kelly and Ronnie Carroll, Page and Michael Hurley, Christi and Jason Martin and Melissa and Travis Henderson.
The family tree includes great-great nieces and nephews David Rios, Casen and Kallie Carroll, Scarlett and Pierce Henderson, Hugh and Phyfe Hickam, Alexandra and Rater Martin. Joyce Kahler was a beloved cousin. Special bonus family members are Donovan and Nishan Bergin, along with their children, Madeleine and Norah.
Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nelson, parents Monte and Katie Lee Page, brother Monte Page and her sister Frances Hickam Godley.
A service to celebrate Beverly's life will take place on Saturday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m. at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018.

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8
