GOD Blessed the late Gustave Davis and Ollie Mae Guidry with their fourth child Betty Lou Davis on January 29, 1943, in Church Point, Louisiana. Betty attended primary school in Church Point, Louisiana until the Six Grade. She graduated from Acadia Parish Training School in Rayne, Louisiana.
After graduation, Betty started on a new journey, making Houston, Texas her new home, moving with her Godfather Lawrence “Shorty” Carter. GOD opened a special door for Betty at North Forest ISD. She worked various cafeteria positions becoming Relief Manager until her retirement at Lakewood Elementary. She retired after a long and prosperous career with 28 years of service. Even after retirement her work family and friends from North Forest stayed in touch with one another. Betty loved cooking, dancing, playing cards, and enjoying family time. She was an active member at Little Union Baptist Church, serving in the Nurse Auxiliary and Sister-To-Sister ministry until she started having health challenges.
Betty accepted Christ at Sunrise Baptist Church in Bristol, Louisiana at an early age. Betty “Boo” Carter received her wings, and transitioned Thursday July 28, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gustave Davis, and Ollie Mae Davis; five brothers and one sister: Ollend Davis, Wafferd Davis, Roland Davis, Oliver Davis, Richard Davis, and Zena Ann Eaglin.

TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVE ME
I have been faithfully blessed to have you in my life for a brief time. I am gone now, release me, let me go. I have new business and things to see and do. Do not tie yourself to me with tears. You know, GOD gave you Me just for a season. You cannot imagine how much more you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love each of you showed to me. Keep our memories we shared within your heart, I will not be far away, for life goes on. Now, I must start a new journey alone. So, grieve awhile for me if you must, then let your grief be comforted by faith and trust. Remember, although you cannot see or touch me, I will be nearby. And when it is your time to travel the path alone, I will greet you with a smile and say, “Welcome Home.”
