Bettie Sue Hill

Bettie Sue Hill long time resident of Houston, TX passed away August 22, 2023 in Brenham, TX at the age of 97. She was born April 17, 1926 in Dawson County, Texas to Hal Harris Hill and Gladys Lindsey Hill of Houston, TX.

Bettie graduated from Regan High School in 1944 and went to work for Texaco Company right after graduating in June 1944. She worked at Texaco until she retired June 1986 after 42 years of service primarily as a computer programmer/librarian at the Texaco Lab facility in Bellaire, TX.

Bettie enjoyed reading, watching TV, traveling and going to the movies. She also enjoyed Mexican food, pizza, going to Luby's and chocolate, especially Turtles, Hershey Almond Bars and Almond Joys.

She is survived by her sister, Billie Davis (Hempstead, TX), nephews Hal Russell Kays and wife Linda (Conroe, TX), Gary Hause (Hempstead, TX), Stephen Davis and wife Terry (Hempstead, TX), nieces Cindy Harrison and husband Mark (Hempstead, TX), Candyce Davis (Cypress, TX) and Kathy Scheuller and husband Mike (Spring, TX) plus numerous great nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hal and Gladys Hill, brother Harold Hill, and sister LaVerne Hause.

A graveside ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2023 11:00am at Forest Park Lawndale. The family request that in-lieu of flowers donations be made to your favorite charity or to Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue at GBGRR.org.
