Bernard W. Dorn, born in New Holstein, Wisconsin, Bernie graduated from high school at the age of 17 and promptly joined the Navy to serve his country in World War II. After his time in the service and receiving an Honorable Discharge, he and a good friend moved to the great state of Texas. Having arrived in Texas, he soon began his career with Carnation Milk Company Delivery Division, where he remained until he retired. After his retirement, he passed the time playing bridge at several local community centers. He had a true love for all sports and loved socializing with family and friends. He was extremely well read and one of his greatest achievements was being accepted by Mensa. Bernie was married on May 29, 1959 to his loving wife Peggy Dorn, who survived him, and together they raised five children, Michael, Kathy, Johnny, Edna and Karl. He has nine grandchildren, Stephan, Robyn, Jason, Jennifer, Christopher, Coleman, Cody, Hallie, Chase and six great grandchildren, Sterlyn, Cierra, Jacob, Luke, Dominic and Jayden. Dorn was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Service to be held on September 21st at 2:30 pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Tx 77060. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Conroe Family YMCA in his memory.
