Beatrice Myers Fox, 93, of Houston Texas, died on February 16, 2017 in Houston, Texas. Born April 14, 1923 in Patoutville, Louisiana, she is predeceased by her parents, Levie and Oniel Myers; her husband, George Hall Fox; her son, Richard Wayne Prince; as well as her sisters, Ruby Little and Leona Carribean. “Bea Bea”, as she was fondly known, and called by her many nieces and nephews, spent her early married years as a homemaker, but, decided, after becoming mother to four children, to delve into different businesses. She opened her own beauty shop, and aptly named it “Bea Bea’s Beauty Box” which she enjoyed the success of for eight years. She was also an owner of, and managed several apartment complexes for many years in the Houston area. Never one to like to sit at home, she had many smaller jobs in her later years, and was blessed to be able to continue working at jobs she enjoyed until her early 80’s when she finally “retired.”
Bea Bea always loved getting together with family and cooking her favorite meals. In her later years, when she lived independently in Houston, she was an active member of St. Mathew’s Catholic parish and participated in their Seniors' group and craft class. She was a life-long Catholic and greatly appreciated the Wednesday morning rosary and devotions. She was an excellent seamstress, and her skills were greatly appreciated within the parish, as she volunteered to make and mend many of the altar cloths, religious banners, and other needs for the many charitable projects at the church. She will always be remembered as a loving, giving, and charitable lady. Survivors include her brothers, Adrian Myers and Eddie Myers; her three children, Linda Schweitzer, Amanda Skipworth, and Sidney Prince; her grandchildren, Benjamin Skipworth, Olivia Skipworth, Hannah Schweitzer, and Shane Prince; great grand-children, Jake Prince and Lane Prince; and son-in-laws, Steven Schweitzer and Jon Lloyd; and numerous nieces and nephews who, during their early years, thought of her like their second mother. With all of her family gathered, a funeral service, with Father Ben Smaistrla presiding, pastor St. Ambrose Catholic Church, took place on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in the chapel at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, Tx. Burial was followed at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Tx where she was laid to rest a long side her husband.
