Alman Arnold Weber (B.B. Weber), 84, passed away September 15th, 2013. He was born in Houston, Texas on November 4th, 1928 to Norma and Siegfried Weber. B.B attended Milby High School and the University of Houston. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Knapp, on August 31st, 1950 and they were married 56 years until Dorothy's death in 2007. B.B. is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Knapp Weber and brothers, Herman and Raymond Weber.
B.B. had many passions in life. BB's first love was his family, his beloved wife Dorothy of 56 years, three children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. BB was also blessed with many, many wonderful friends that he made throughout his lifetime. In 1962, BB founded Weber Drilling Company. He built his company from the ground up beginning with the Astrodome and continuing on to lay the foundations for many of the buildings, bridges, and freeways in the greater Houston area. Last, but not least was his passion for radio controlled airplanes and Bomber Field. He began flying rubber band powered model airplanes on the family farm off Mykawa Road. He continued to fly for the next 70 years winning awards and recognition at RC flying fields all over the country. He founded Bomber Field in Monaville, Texas in the early 1980s and it continues to be a premier RC flying field to this day.
B.B. leaves his daughters, Denise (Brian) Cloyes and Dana (Shann) Balke; his son Drew (Annette) Weber; loving grandchildren Amber Schneider, Kyle Cloyes, Taylor Cloyes, Shanna Balke, Elissa Balke, and Diane Weber; great-granddaughter Morgan Schneider; his brothers Norman Weber and Vernon Weber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
B.B’s family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful team on the 8th floor at Methodist Hospital in the medical center, our phenomenal team of doctors, and Grace Hospice for their expertise in care and the kindness they showed him. Last but certainly not least, we want to express our heartfelt thanks and love to BB's caregivers Delores , Vickey, and Stacie for taking such wonderful care of him and showing so much love and compassion during their time with him.
A memorial service celebrating B.B.’s life will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
