Barbara graduated from Sam Houston High School and received multiple courses from Lone Star College. She married to the love of her life James Ervin Singletary on March 11, 1960. Barbara was an accountant for Exxon Mobil for 30 years and a secretary for the family lawyer for 12 years. She played a cornet as a sergeant of the Houstonettes drill team in high school and later joined the Toastmasters club with her husband James. Some of her favorite passions and hobbies included bowling, scuba diving, and traveling with James. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, watching murder mysteries, reading many different kinds of books, and time spent with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Davis; mother, Cora Davis; sister, Judy; brother, Richard; son, Kenneth.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Singletary; sons, Michael Singletary and Bryan Singletary; granddaughters, Alicia Singletary and Constance Singletary; great granddaughter, Athena.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on February 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM. The wake being held on February 3, 2023 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
