She was raised by a God-fearing, spirit- filled mother, who led many of her family members to Christ. From birth, she has been a woman of faith and character. She was united in holy matrimony to Kenneth Nation on March 7, 1969 and was his help-mate pastoring and assisting churches in Florida, North Carolina and Texas.
She was blessed with two (2) birth-children and four (4) step-children. Barbara and Kenneth (Ken and Barbie- as they were often referred) were privileged to celebrate their 50-year-anniversary in March of 2019. It should be noted here, that one of Kenneth’s final wishes was that he live to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Barbara died just two years afterward, on the day of their anniversary. They were truly the loves of each other’s lives.
Barbara was known for her Godly grace and beauty. She possessed an uncanny ability to love and forgive others. She was loved by many, several of whom referred to her as “mom.” She made a lasting imprint on so many, and her imprint will forever remain on the hearts of all who knew and loved her. In addition to serving the Lord and her family - her motto was. . . “I want to spend my life mending broken people.” Barbara Nation departed this life on March 7, 2021, where she lived the past two years, with her daughter (Candy) in Victoria, TX.
