She spent her career in the Spring Branch Independent School District. She was a devoted member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, spending multiple hours at the church weekly while all four of her kids and grandkids grew up there. She would spend time cooking food for the people of the church and school, answering phones throughout her time serving at the Greek Festival, and was a long-time Sunday School teacher.
She married her best friend, James D. Kissamis, on April 28th, 1957. Together, they had four incredible children: Andrew S. Kissamis, Paula J. Tippit, John G. Kissamis, and George. M Kissamis. She was a loving Yia-Yia to many grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 30th, 2023 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Boulevard, Houston, followed by Trisagion prayers and the funeral service. The graveside service will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway.
