and died on September 22 , 2018 .
He moved to Houston as a child in 1934. He is survived by
his wife Martha Garcia, son Blas Garcia Sr., 3 grandsons;
Blas Garcia Jr, and wife Marie, George Garcia and wife Beclry,
Bitt Stevens and wife Christi. Sister Olivia Rivera and her husband
Raymond, niece Posey and her husband Juan, 1 great grandchild
and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nena Garcia and second
wife Donna Garcia.
He joined the Army during the Korean Conflict after graduating
from Sam Houston High School where he served for 3 yrs as
an Engineer specialist . Later after his discharge he attended
the University of Houston majoring in Business Management.
After college he went to work for General Electric Company. He
went on to become Regional Sales Manager for a seven state area.
While still with GE he also worked as a deputy for the Harris
County Sheriff's Dept for 20 years. After retiring from GE after 43
years he moved to the Lake Livingston Area, settling in the Waterwood
Subdivision where he worked Security for the Waterwood
Improvement Association until his death.
Services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetary
on Monday , October 1 , 2018 at 10am. A visitation will begin at 9am .
Burial will follow immediately after funeral services
