It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Arturo Calderon Treviño. He was called to Heaven Saturday, August 1, 2020 at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood after a long life of 83 years. In his early life in Coahuila, Mexico, Arturo worked as a bartender in their father’s Cantina. Arturo then courageously journeyed to the United States. He settled in Houston, Texas and worked over 20 years for the Southern Pacific Railroad company before he finally retired in 1995. He was such a brave, hardworking man. He enjoyed the simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, drinking a beer, smoking a cigarette, watching cartoons and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed but he is at peace now.
Preceded in death by his parents Francisco Treviño and Juanita Calderon; his siblings Aurora Cienegas, Gloria De La Rosa and Saragosa Trevino; and wife of over 40 years, Ofelia Maldonado Treviño. He is survived by his siblings: Francisco Treviño Jr., Maria Elena Frias and Maclovia Rangel; his children: Arturo Trevino Jr., Ramiro Treviño, Blanca Saldivar, Juan Treviño, Julia Vega and Alfredo Treviño; and numerous grandchildren.
Loved ones are invited to attend the viewing on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. The funeral will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, August, 6, 2020. After the funeral services, the Treviño family then invites everyone to join in celebrating his life at 23097 Smith Road, Porter, Texas 77365.
