Arthur Jan Mattson left for his next journey on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022. He passed away quickly at home, on his 69th birthday, after a long battle with chronic illness. He was born to Arthur Walter and Lucille Clara (Hart) Mattson on November 1st, 1953, in Houston, TX.
Arthur Jan worked as an industrial designer for over 30 years, designing everything from hyperbaric chambers to offshore platforms. He married Patricia Anne Moll on December 31st, 1983 at Park Place Methodist Church in Houston, TX. They shared 39 wonderful years together until his passing.
Together they had a daughter, Jennifer, with whom he spent countless joyful hours riding bicycles. He loved going on cruise vacations and traveling to campgrounds in the RV with his family.
Arthur Jan is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Jennifer Mattson Ogle and husband, Marcus; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Mattson Boyd; and parents, Arthur and Lucille Mattson.
A small graveside service will be held at the Forest Park – Lawndale cemetery at a date to be determined. Further details will follow.
