Red was born September 14, 1984, to Cynthia B. Meza and Antonio C. Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his niece Maria Louisa, grandfather Guadalupe Meza, Aunt Debra Meza, grandmothers Juanita Cantu and Manuela Perez, great-grandfather Pablo Perez, and Uncle Adan Meza. They will welcome him with open arms so he won't be alone. May God keep them safe until we see each other again.
A little background on Red. He struggled with drug addiction and homelessness. Two months ago, he wanted to change and decided to attend rehab. He stayed with his mother for a week until he landed a place to stay. He appreciated Mike and Grandma for giving him a place to sleep when times were rough. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated, and couldn't stay at his apartment and landed in the hospital. He passed away shortly after that.
He's done a lot of wrongs, especially to his mother but was sorry for his actions. Despite this, his mom remained his rock and never gave up on him. She took him to appointments, kept him fed, and provided a roof. When Red had money, he would try and treat the people close to him. Some of the people he held dear were Nazibey, Vivonne, and Nathan. There's a good chance if you were to guess his passwords, it would be one of their names.
Whenever he was lonely and needed someone to talk to, he called Vivonne. Whenever times got dark and needed god, Patsy was there to pray with him. Whenever he wanted to mess with Grandma he said he'd be there waiting outside her window. Whenever he needed a partner in crime he'd let Irene in on it. Whenever he wanted to talk shit Lydia was there ready with drinks and a contagious laugh. All these moments Red had with us were when we saw him as family and he knew that. Every tear that leaves your eyes and falls to the ground tells a story you shared with him.
He is survived by his Grandmother Lydia Meza, Mother Cynthia, and Stepdad Mike Vigil, Delila Rodriguez, Aldo Rodriguez, Irene Rodriguez (Josh), Victoria Gaytan, Valerie Rodriguez, Vanessa Rodriguez, Lydia Lucio(Luis), Aunt Rosa Meza, Nickolas Vigil, Nathan Vigil, Nyomi Rodriguez, Crystal Bargas( George), Roger Juarez, Abel Juarez, and Aunts and Uncles: Patsy( Greg); Mary (Enrique); Arthur Castillo, Mando(Tina) Castillo, Freddy Castillo Robert Meza. Numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family.
A visitation for Red will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003, followed by a rosary service at 1:00 PM.
