My name is Joe Tristan and I am a childhood friend of the Saavedra family back in the old neighborhood in North side. My brother, Augustine  and I  were friends of Felix, Rosario, Lupe and Alfredo. We knew Tona as their older sister and recall that she was always friendly and smiling all the time. She was also a big help to her mother, Dona Augustina, at their home.I spent alot of time at the Saavedra home playing with my friends.  I remember when her older brother John brought Joe Sotelo to their house for the first time. I was approximately 10 years old. Later,  I remember Tona walking out of her home in her wedding dress to go to church and marry Joe. She was a very nice person and I know the Saavedra/Sotelo family will miss her. Unfortunately, I did not know Antonia, but I know the family was strong just in conversations with Gabe & Becky!  Her children took very good care of her to see to her needs and comfort.  The family worked “together” with her best interests at heart.  This speaks wonders for her as a mother and the children she raised.  She will be missed by many, however she leaves a lot of memories behind.  Thinking of all of you during this sad time. 💚

I would like to give my deepest condolences and prayers to the Sotelo family.  I would like to say Mrs Sotelo was a beautiful lady with a beautiful family. I would go visit my friends Noe & Evelyn and while there I would always have a friendly chat with Mrs Tonya. We would talk about everything and how each other was doing these days. It was always nice to talk with her. She will be missed and I know that she is with Mr Joe now. God bless her and the Sotelo family. Visiting with the Sotelo’s is like visiting my second family. Love y’all, we are here for you.
