Mr. Anthony Frederick Wilson, beloved son, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on January 16, 2024 at the age of 53. He was born on January 13, 1971 in Houston, TX to the loving parents of Mary Long and the late Ruben Long. He had one sister, Tamaria Duck, who passed suddenly in 2015. He grieved deeply for his sister and held a special place in his heart for her. Anthony was a devoted father to his only son, Ke’Anthony Wilson, whom he cherished deeply. He took great pride in being a father and was overjoyed when Ke’Anthony blessed him with a beautiful granddaughter, Kinley Wilson. Anthony adored his role as Paw-Paw and treasured every moment he spent with Kinley.
Anthony’s love for family extended beyond his immediate circle. He shared a special bond with his favorite cousin, Joselyn Wilson-Taylor, and considered her a sister. Their friendship was a source of strength and joy throughout his life. Anthony was also blessed with a host of dedicated friends and family who will miss his warm presence and infectious laughter.
Known to his friends as “Weazle” in the 5th Ward and “5th Ward” in South Park, Anthony was always the life of the party. He enjoyed spending his weekends with his “boyz” in 5th Ward and had countless unforgettable memories in the neighborhood. Anthony’s love for his community was evident in the lasting friendships he formed and the cherished moments he shared with his loved ones.
Anthony’s passion for football was unwavering, and he remained a loyal and dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan throughout his life. He found great joy in cheering on his favorite team and celebrating their victories with his friends and family.
Sadly, Anthony’s life was cut short by cancer, and he passed away at Ben Taub Hospital. His bravery and courage in battling this disease will forever be remembered by those who witnessed his strength. He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben Long; sister, Tamaria Duck; and grandmother, Annie Bell Wilson. He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Long; son, Ke’Anthony Wilson; granddaughter, Kinley Wilson; and a host of family and dear friends. Anthony’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy through their own lives.
Anthony Frederick Wilson will forever be remembered for his love, laughter and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
