On April 18, 1945 a child was born to Oliver and Allie V. Holiday in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was the sibling of five sisters and three brothers and better known as "Sonnie Boy." When AJ was three, his family relocated to Houston, Texas and settled in Fifth Ward area, where he attended E. O. Smith High School. Anthony Thomas, Sr. met and married Ann Marie Spiller in 1965 and to this union three sons were born; Anthony Jr., Nicolas and Cornelius Thomas. In 1996 AJ was ordained Deacon Thomas where he served at God's Family of Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Overseer Wonderful L. Ryan. AJ was considered to be the "Jack of all trades." There was nothing he couldn't do or glue. He was a true "cowboy" at heart who loved western hats, jeans and the movies to go along with it. He lived in the fast lane, literally 80 mph was the speed limit he resided in. His heart was always full of joy and love; and he believed laughter really was good for the soul. He leaves a loving and devoted wife Ann Marie Thomas; three sons Nicolas, Anthony Jr. and Cornelius Thomas; two daughters-in-law Toccara Thomas and Monica Thomas; four grandchildren including Norielle Thomas, Davion Thomas, Anthony Thomas III and Myiesha Thomas; nieces Jennifer Norman, Karon Norman, Alana Warren; nephew Chris Warren; sisters Claudine Norman, Pearline Smith, Mary D. Warren, Gertha Mae Horn and Frances; brothers Cedrick and Koto, Jean Earl Washington; as well as the late granddaughter Antionette Thomas and late daughter-in-law Robin Renee Thomas. He was preceded in death by his mother Allie V. Holiday and father Oliver.
