October 18, 1960 Anthony Wayne Gordon was born to the proud parents of Garland Gordon and Joyce Thibodeaux-Gordon at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in 5th ward. He was raised in Kashmere Gardens where he attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, 1st- 6th grade, then attending 7th & 8th grade at Johnston Jr. High. From there moved as a family to Crosby, TX in 1977 where he went to Crosby High School, leaving there to enlist in the United States Navy, February 1980. He had so many wonderful stories of his time traveling with the Navy, stationed in many places but his favorite was Japan, where he even learned to speak some Japanese! When he arrived back to the states, he met Tamrilyn Simien back home in Crosby, they dated and welcomed a baby Girl, Ashley, December 4,1987.
Anthony had many passions, music, tinting, and taking care of others. He toured with Frankie Beverly and maze for a couple years as their stage hand and driver. Following his return back home, he worked side by side with his cousin/might as well be brother, Brian Gordon in a detail in tint business. If two peas in a pod were people it would be them. Anthony moved between Texas, Maryland, and Georgia throughout his years of life, but settling in Georgia for 20+ yrs where he was continued his Tinting Business that opened many many many doors for him, introducing him to many well-known people in the Atlanta music industry, police department and NFL team. Atlanta is where he joined Now Faith International Ministries and became and Ordained Minister on March 6, 2005. Atlanta is also the home and foundation to his ministry Feed the Sheep. He started off by feeding the homeless in the area where he lived and worked making it his priority to make sure at least 10+ a day were fed either before or after work. He eventually opened his own home doors to the homeless where he would feed them a hot meal and speak to them the word of God. As time passed and things took off, he obtained a building that he rented out as a Worship home continuing his sermons and feeding God’s sheep. While doing that, the producer in him was in full affect. Son of Man, is what he went by as a producer. He started a Gospel Label, called the WAR LABEL, alongside other pastors, that created music for the youth but speaking the word. It took a lot of courage to step out and go against what others considered the “Normal” gospel music. It was amazing to see! And even more amazing to hear! During that time, he Directed and Produced and Comedy show, called The King and Comedy.
After his time in Atlanta was ongoing, Anthony moved back to Houston, Tx to fulfill his role as Grand-Dad, the short visits back and forth weren’t enough. He couldn’t sit still for long, getting back into rotation of working starting his tinting business again with a new name A & A Window Tinting (automobile/commercial), managing his daughters Tax business and lending his ever so helpful hand with her and her husband’s, barber shop and real estate developments. Never did he tire. He extended his help until his final days… He will forever be missed as he touched so many lives while here.
