She was born on the 4th of August 1917, in Moscow, Texas, the youngest of 11 children to William Darracott and Nora Belle Baughman Winston. As a lifetime resident of Bellaire, she was active in her church, community, Leisure Club, and was an avid bridge player.
She is preceded in death by her twin sister, Bessie Laurie Monday; husbands, Fritz Kaffenberger and Jack Richardson; son, Howard W. Kaffenberger; and all of her older siblings. Surviving family members include her daughter, Laurie Ann Base and her husband Gary; step-daughter Jackie Gauthreaux and family; grandchildren, Eric Base and wife Emily, Jessica Wright and husband Jeff; great granddaughter Blair Wright; and numerous other loved ones.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from two until four o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 30th of December, in the drawing room of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 31st of December, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where the Rev. Michael Homan, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, is to officiate.
A private interment is to follow at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston.
