Annie Ruth James

Our beloved Annie Ruth James was born on October 1, 1933, to the late Johnny Norman.

Norman and Elizabeth Norman, welcomed a beautiful first baby girl in Wharton, Texas. Her name was Annie Ruth Norman, Christian values and beliefs were taught early. She later accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended TLP High School an began pursing her dream as a DayCare worker. Annie was married to A.B. McCardell and moved to Houston, Texas. During this union they had six children. Four girls and two boys. Rosetta Kellow, Shirley Hughes, A.B. McCardell, Jr., Denise McCardell, Debra Smith, and Tyrone McCardell. She later awas baptized and later became a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, but it wasn’t until July 23, 1994, Annie Ruth met her true love and was joined in Holy matrimony to Percy Milton James. They thoroughly enjoyed the blessings of the beautiful life and the meaning of their families together forever. She later became a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church under leader of Pastor David L. Smith.

Annie Ruth departed her life on February 24, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Norman, Sr. and Elizabeth Norman; Husband, Percy James; two brothers, Johnny Norman, Jr. and Bennie Norman; three sisters, Mozell Norman Smith, Josie Lee Norman Brown, Ella Marie Norman Anderson; two daughters, Rosetta Kellow, and Shirley Perkins; one great-granddaughter, Genesis McCardell.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Denise McCardell and Debra McCardell; two sons, A.B. McCardell, Sr. and Tyrone McCardell; 19 grandkids, 39 great-great-grandkids, 12 great-great-great-grandkids, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Annie will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal will occur Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 3:50 PM to 4:15 PM at Paradise North Cemetery, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
