Anna Lou Parker, 91, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2021. She was born on December 17, 1929, to Ernest Grady and Esther Belle Pope in Dallas, Texas. The youngest of three, she grew up in the Midwest, graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri and attended the University of Kansas where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. On September 9, 1951, Anna Lou married Jack Parker, the love of her life for over 55 years.
She was a devoted Christian, generous, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joys were family gatherings, cooking, music, golfing, gardening, and travel. She was active in Northwoods Presbyterian Church, Northwest Women’s Club, and many other community organizations.
Anna Lou is preceded in death by her husband, Jack. She is survived by her sons Michael Knowlton (Sandy), Thomas Russell, Matthew J. (Katherine) as well as her daughter, Jan Louise (William) and grandchildren John, Dan (Cassie), Sam, Annelise, and Elizabeth.
As her health declined she never lost her sense of humor, cheerful personality, and beautiful smile.
A private graveside service is planned for April.
