Anna A. Spradley

Anna (Annie) Dethlefsen Spradley, 97, of Houston, Texas passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013. She was born on June 23, 1915 in Houston, Texas, the fifth of seven children. She was married to her husband of 64 years, Theron Ponton Spradley on September 3, 1937. She was baptized in 1954 and was a charter member of the Fairbanks Church of Christ, formerly Aurora Street Church of Christ.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband and by sisters, Wilma Groeschel and Louise Brock, brothers George and William Dethlefsen and by a granddaughter, Rebecca Franklin. She is survived by daughters, Marlene Franklin and husband James, Carlene Chrisner, Doris Sing and husband William, and Cheryl Proctor and husband Allen, son, Theron P. Spradley, Jr. and wife Betty and sisters, Elsie Carpenter and Frances Kennedy. She has 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

In 1978 Annie and Theron retired to Livingston, Texas. They lived there for 20 years, until moving back to Houston in 1998 because of illness.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Heights Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home with Evangelist Randy Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 in Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Texas. Between these services there will be a reception at the home of Theron P Spradley, Jr. at 1222 W 31st. There will be no formal procession to the Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to arrive at the Cemetery by 2:30 p.m.
