Anna Marie Vogler, 91, of Houston, passed away Sunday, May 29th. She was born May 26, 1920 in Tyler, Texas, to Joe Earl Jones and Winifred Lee Kennedy Jones. She was a resident of Midland, Texas for over 50 years before returning to Houston to be near her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 57 years, Edward A. Vogler.
Anna Marie is survived by her son Don Vogler of Spring, Texas, her son Jon Vogler and wife Sherri of Houston, and son Dan Vogler of Austin, Texas, as well as her grandchildren, Holly Farrar, Jason Vogler, Keli Heilman, and Kirby Vogler, and their spouses, and four great grandchildren, Katie Dorricott, Christian Vogler, Lauren Vogler, and Riley Vogler.
Anna Marie grew up in Houston's Eastend area and was a graduate of Sam Houston High School. She was an incredible cook and loved to entertain her many friends. Also she was a professional quality seamstress and could make virtually any clothing item, and she had an artistic flair for art and decorating that was outstanding. While living in Midland, she and her husband Ed were very active in the Midland Community Theatre and other civic organizations and were longtime active members of the First Presbyterian Church, as well as world travelers. Too, she was an accomplished bridge player, and enjoyed sharing this activity with her friends at University Place Retirement Community where she lived for the past thirteen years. Anna Marie was a genuinely nice, caring, beautiful, and gracious person who will be missed by many friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023, on Saturday June 4th at 10:30am , in the Chapel of Angels where Anna Marie and Ed were married in 1939, with interment shortly afterwards at Forest Park Lawndale where she will join her late mother and father in eternal peace. For those wishing to make remembrances, Anna Marie was an ardent supporter of the American Cancer Society. The Vogler Family would like to offer a special thanks to the caregivers at Temporary Home Care, for their loving and caring support during Anna Marie's last days.
