Ann Agness, age 96, of Katy, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Ann was born in Granger, Texas on September 22, 1926 to Hattie and Charles Mokry. She was married to the late Jack Agness for 42 years.
During Ann's long teaching career, she taught third grade at Holy Ghost Catholic School and St. Thomas Moore Catholic School in the Houston area. Ann enjoyed gardening, swimming, running her real estate business, and traveling internationally, especially to her ancestral home in the Czech Republic. Most of all, she was a loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren. Ann brought joy to everyone she met and she never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her loving heart and her undivided faith for her God.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack, sister Minnie Petrusek, sister Hedy Reininger shortly after her, her son-in-law Bill Lamers, and great grandson Carson Lamers.
She is survived by her sister Evelyn Stowers, daughter Leslie Lamers, son Bruce Agness and wife Regan Agness, grandchildren Brent Lamers, Courtney Mondzelewski, Doug Lamers, Lauren Eide, Chris Agness, Jeremy Agness, Leiza Agness, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Carriage Inn family for their dedication to Ann over the years. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made to either Mobile Loaves and Fishes in Austin, Texas or Carriage Inn Memory Care of Katy, Texas.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 1:30 pm and a funeral Mass and 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery following the funeral Mass.
