Ambrose M. Bolton Jr. (a man of many names Dad, Honey, Papa, Grandpa, Polly, Red and Whitey), 79, of Spring, TX, passed away on Tuesday evening January 19, 2016 at his home with family and friends present.
He was born in Meridian, MS, on January 10, 1937, son of the late Ambrose M. Sr. and Margaret B. (Pinyon) Bolton. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann (Ahrens) Bolton, his children Brenda Bolton, Dewayne Bolton and Margaret Busch, step daughters Debra Holmes and Cindy Hestand and adopted son Roger Bolton. He is also survived by 3 siblings, William “Bill” Bolton, Herman Bolton and Clarice “Pudden” Wascom and their spouses, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Siblings preceded in life, Margaret A Bolton, Jean Ryland and Franklin Bolton.
He began a lifelong career as a Truck Driver that began as a Milk Man with Borden’s in Meridian, MS., then progressed to the Oil Fields and ending his driving career in Texas where he worked with Saia for more than 33 years and earned numerous Safety Accommodations and Awards.
He was also a lifelong fan of Football, Car Racing, Country Music and word puzzles! He loved gathering with his family and friends, laughing and goofing off anytime there was an opportunity. He loved building friendships and helping anyone in need.
A viewing will be held at Brookside’s Funeral Home, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston, TX at 7:00 pm on Monday, January 25, 2016. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday January 26, 2016 with the burial immediately following at 12:30 at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery, 13401 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX.
