Alice Levera Cook was born on July 27, 1927, in Aransas Pass, Texas to parents William Robert Roark and Elizabeth Roark. Alice graduated high school in 1944 from Laporte High School located in Laporte, TX. She started work at the Federal Reserve Bank in Houston, TX. It was here that she met the love of her life, Gerald Douglas Cook. Alice and Jerry married on August 30, 1948. Both Alice and Jerry were faithful Christians serving the Lord and becoming charter members of Northwest Baptist Church in 1964.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Gerald D. Cook and her son Randall Lee Cook. She is survived by her son Alan and wife Molly, her grandsons Grant and Robert Cook as well as many dear friends and extended family. Alice will be buried next to her beloved husband at Houston National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, October 6, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and a Memorial Service will commence at 11:45 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, followed by a committal service at Houston National Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Heslep, Bill Fairbanks, Earl Fairbanks, Robert Cook, Grant Cook and Alan Cook.
