AGNES JOHANNA MARTINOLICH GADDY died peacefully in Houston, Texas on December 11, 2015 at the age of 84. Born on March 7, 1931 in Handsboro, MS to Joseph Dominic and Inez Delmas Martinolich, who preceded her in death. Agnes will be laid to rest, in Houston, next to her devoted husband of 54 years, Houston Louis Gaddy, and their sons, Michael and Bradford. Also preceding her in death are two sisters, Dorothy Collins (and husband Joseph) and Margaret Peranich (and husband George) and a brother, Charles Martinolich.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Seideman (and husband, West); Sallye Cielencki (and husband, Scott); her sons, Dave Gaddy (and wife, Kathy); Robby Gaddy; John Gaddy (and wife, Darlene) as well as a brother, J.D. Martinolich; and two sisters, Doris Kansteiner (and husband, Larry), and Carolyn Carden (and husband, Charles). Agnes leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
Agnes was a graduate of Gulfport High School, Class of 1949. She met and married Louis Gaddy in 1951. They were inseparable for the next 54 years and they devoted their lives to their family. Agnes was especially active when her 7 children were young and she enjoyed many days on baseball fields, at choir and ballet performances, swim meets, Brownie, Camp Fire girl and Cub Scout meetings. She remained involved in their lives as they grew up and she became “MiMi” to her 9 grandchildren: David and Stephanie Gaddy; Josh and Allie Gaddy; Brittany, Kyle, and Shelby Cielencki; Brianna Cunningham and Lauren Gaddy. She was happiest when her entire family would gather together. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her desire to be around her family as well as her love for life. A devout Catholic her entire life, she attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church from 1968 until her death.
A visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral mass will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks at Memorial Drive. Graveside services will immediately follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Donation in lieu of flowers can be made in her honor to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
