October 9, 2020 at his home in Houston, Texas.
Don was a registered geologist with Dresser Industries for over 35 years. He was a loving husband to Betty Jordan Cook for 64 years.
Don was an avid hunter and a responsible gun owner. His family knew if the month had an r in
it, he was hunting. He taught all of us to shoot a gun and respect firearms. He had a quick sense of humor and loved to tease and kid us all. You were given a nickname if you were in the inner circle. His head chauffeur and cook, partner through life was Queenie, followed by Little Bear, Little Bird and The Duke. Assisted by Andrewski, Big T, Brycee Boo, Sweet Pea & Buckshot. Neighbors were Col. Bob, Patsy, Cooney Beth and Jumpin’ Jeef from Pumpkin Creek. Nieces were Pamilla and Debbo in Arkansas. And favorite friends Katy Keene and Michael, Ester Jenette and Scott Kimble.
Favorite saying, “ While you are up, will you get me….”
Don is survived by his wife, Betty Cook, his children Sharon Cook Cecil, Kathi Cook Hopkins, husband Andrew Hopkins and Don Mark Cook and his grandchildren Courtney Cecil Patillo, Jacob Patillo, Austin Taylor Cecil, Katie Cecil, Andrew Trevor Hopkins and Bryce Theron Hopkins.
