Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church located at 146 Banks Street with Pastor Troy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicville Emmanuel Baptist Cemetery.

He was survived by his wife, Lizzie Thomas Guidry; son, Fredrick Williams; daughters, Rose G. Wright, Ophelia Gaines (John), Gloria Dennis (Joseph), Terry Warren (Sylvester), Mary Guidry, Debbie George (Noel), Sherl Turner (Michael), and Pamela Lewis; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; foster daughters, Gertrude Spruel and Merethe Bergnord' Ashby; two devoted nieces, Jessie Nevers and Patricia Hartman; two devoted friends, Barbara Hartman and Bernadine Charles; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Linda Stewart and Jackie Lyons; parents, Clarence Guidry and Ophelia Anderson-Matthews; stepfather, Clifford Matthews; and stepsister, Audrey White.
