John O moved to Hot Springs in 1969 after the death of his parents and became an honorary sibling of the Herschel and Pat Logan family, joining together with their eight children. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1972. After working for over 20 years at Brooks Hardware, he retired from Irby Electric in 2020.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Rody O’Dwyer. John O is survived by his loving companion Katrina Thomas Hoskins for over 30 years and her daughter Aubrey Scheuer, only child and daughter, Kelly Marie O’Dwyer, one brother Pat O’Dwyer, numerous cousins including William Joe O’Dwyer.
John O was a simple man who always had a hand trick or origami dollar that he folded for all of his nieces and nephews, which put the biggest smiles on their faces. There have been many family get togethers where we’ve watched Katrina fix his plate, refill his glass of tea or serve him dessert all without him having to say a word. She knew when and what he needed before he did. As a family, we have joked about it for years! She’s truly been his rock.
A memorial visitation will be held at Gross Funeral Home on Friday October 28, 2022, at 10:00 am, followed by a burial at Calvary Cemetery.
