Mary Asbury, 82, passed away September 19, 2018 at home. Born in Ohio to the late Oscar and Mary Hendrix, Mary learned young to make do with what she had and to not resent anything she did not. Instilling this principle in her children and grandchildren, she hand sewed from whatever material she had their school clothes and doll clothes for Christmas and birthdays. Always making sure the people she loved had plenty, Mary had a place and a meal for you- even when she had almost nothing.
Mary is predeceased by her husband EJ Asbury and two sisters, Dean Harvey and Oleta Pohlaw.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Susie (Kit Evans), Larry (Ruth) Asbury, Roger Asbury, Linda Asbury, Jimmy (Deborah) Asbury, Anna Belle Asbury; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; her sister Fay Duncan; and lots of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at Gross Funeral Home on Thursday, September 27 at 1 pm.
