Born in Monroe, Louisiana, Kay truly had an appreciation for the little things in life. She loved her plants, animals, and experiencing the beauty of nature. Kay was a natural born entertainer and server. She loved to cook and host parties for her friends and family. Kay cared deeply for all those around her- not out of obligation, but because it was simply who she was. She was sweet, funny, kind-hearted, bubbly and never met a stranger. Kay knew a little bit about everything from politics to doctoring to football (Geaux Tigers!) to all matters of cooking, especially cajun dishes.
Kay was the best mom, not only to her children, Cortland Brasseaux and Falyn LeBlanc, but to any child who crossed her threshold. She took it upon herself to make sure they were fed, safe, healthy, happy, and especially loved. Kay will be deeply missed by Cortland, Falyn, and all those who were lucky enough to call her “mom.”
Kay was a wonderful wife to Jeff, the love of her life. They were together 24x7 as both worked from home, and they loved every minute of it. They moved to Arkansas because they both enjoyed the outdoors and the natural beauty of the state, and the past 12 years were the happiest of their lives.
Kay was the daughter of Kenneth Kirkham (Josephine) and Carolyn Honeycutt (Harold) and the sister of Kathy Gibson (Tommy Champagne). Kay was the focal point of the family who brought everyone together.
Kay loved her two dogs, Remi and Kinlee, and was reunited with Percy (Sir Percibal Pugsly), who was part of the family for 19 years.
Kay was an old soul and never missed an opportunity to expand her knowledge. She loved to talk to people, old and young, but was always there to listen. Kay was instantly loved by everyone that met her because of how genuine she was. To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement.
