Dorothy was a nurturing mother and grandmother. She loved to work in the yard and had an incredible green thumb. She was a woman of faith and loved to watch Charles Stanley and Charles Hagee on television. Dorothy had a sweet disposition yet she had a strong Irish spirit and was a fighter until the end.
Dorothy is predeceased by her first husband Dewey Hamilton Thurman and her second husband Olin Dewitt Stevens, whom she shared 35 years of love and companionship. Also, meeting her in Heaven is Dewey Alan Thurman her son, and Laverne Long her sister.
Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her daughter, Sherry Beavers and Son-in-law Lanny; daughter-in-law, Barbara Thurman; grandchildren, Christopher Alan Thurman and his wife Deidre; Staci Lea Thurman-Rotton and her husband Jeremy; great grandchildren, Adrianna Nicole Thurman, Christopher Alan Thurman II, Zoe Elizabeth Rotton and great-great granddaughter, Hattie Lynn Thurman.
The family would like to thank the following: Dr. James Humphreys and his staff, the staff of Caring Hearts, and a very special thank you to the entire staff of Village Springs Health and Rehabilitation and Dierkson Hospice for their love, care and support through the last months of her most difficult journey.
