Anne Copeman, 86, of Hot Springs, passed away June 5, 2017. Anne was born in Dermott, Arkansas to the late John and Katherine Freeman. Though she had a career outside the home, it was homemaking which she loved. Neither daughter had a store bought dress until they were well into high school, the evening meal was always delicious, the home beautifully decorated, and the yard full of flowers and well manicured. Somehow she still found time to volunteer and be lots of fun. Anne set an example of community service which her daughters carry on today; Anne’s last volunteering adventure was at The Caring Place.
More often than not, Anne was at Oaklawn during race meet, in New Orleans during Mardi gras (or whenever she could get there), and enjoying New Mexico at Christmas.
Anne was the loving wife of Jack Copeman, sweet sister of Katherine Dale, and the proud mother of Jamie (Alan) Lax, Katherine (Marilyn) Freeman, and the late Buck Freeman. Her grandchildren Aaron (Alicia) Lax, Anne Fox, and Kate Fox have great memories of her amazing smile, laugh, and energy, as will Nevaeh Lax and Damian Berry, Anne’s great-grandchildren.
The family’s love extends to her caregivers Tabitha Gonzales, Annie Seidel, Jenny Olson, Linda Middletown, and Jennie Wallace whose loving care the last four years was remarkable. And also to her angels during her illness, Ann Shelton and Kay Provus- thank you.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to The Caring Place at 101 Quapaw Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901 celebrating the memory of Anne Copeman.
