Larry Eugene Wolfe

He was born August 2, 1945, to the late Olie A. and Hazel E. Strickland Wolfe.

After graduating from Fayetteville Senior High School, Larry served in the US Air Force and at one point scored the highest grade ever recorded in Air Force history in a particular classified computer system.

Larry worked for Central Piedmont College in the Media Services Department. He was the head of multi-media services at FTCC.

Larry’s passion for this type of work inspired him to open his own business, Wolfe Audio-Visual Productions, which has been successful for 28 plus years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Hay Street United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-1:00 pm prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hay Street United Methodist Church, Wounded Warriors Project, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

He is survived by many friends and family members to include his loving companion, Ms. Susan Blanton and his “daughter” Lauren Blanton of Fayetteville.

Along with his parents he was precede in death by his older sister, Joyce Evelyn Reider.

Among the many friendships that grew along the way and his many words of advice is one that clearly remains: “Fame and Fortune are fleeting things . . . they disappear as quickly (or slowly) as they appeared . . . but for the most part, they do indeed, disappear. Contentment, however, is everlasting, and “it” … comes from within yourself. That when the times get hard and you feel beaten . . . take a close look around you and you will find that the man without any shoes to wear, even in his worst despair . . .is so much more fortunate than the man without feet.
